Holiday Events are timely events that occur on FunOrb for a period of two weeks around a certain holiday. The first Holiday Event was introduced on Halloween 2008. The Holiday Event introduces new achievements for select games, as well as a change in FunOrb background and release of one or two new games that coincide with the event.
Halloween 2008[]

The FunOrb website has a holiday makeover and Halloween themes are given to 10 games, each of which also has one new Achievement to earn, tied into the Halloween update.
The 10 games affected were:

- Brick-à-Brac
- Chess
- Crazy Crystals
- Geoblox
- TetraLink
- Torquing!
- Transmogrify
- Wizard Run
- Zombie Dawn
Reactions[]
Reactions were mixed. The new skin was well received, but some complained that updates were given to the wrong games, or that the difficulty level of some updates were questionable. People complained that they could no longer recognize Chess pieces, while others were angry that some were members only. Jagex said in one thread.....
"We have not added too much content to Halloween updates because we feel we should put more effort into non-temporary updates, such as new games. Also, graphics and sound re-coding takes quite a long period of time, and we feel that this time would be better spent on games we hope to release in the future...."
Halloween Achievements[]
The following achievements were released for Halloween 2008, and could only be achieved during the season of Halloween. They were again available for about two weeks around Halloween 2009.

Christmas 2008[]

Christmas 2008 affected the games:
3 festive costumes for Arcanists were released on Orb Downloads. They were a elf, santa and snowman costume. They were sold together at a cost of 90 orb coins. The christmas costumes were the 1st In-game orb downloads, and were released simultaneously with 3 other Arcanist costumes. Additionally, the grassy hills terrain was modified to look as if draped with snow.
On Brick-à-Brac, there was simply an additional Two-player level added, which had the blocks arranged in the shape of Santa.
Finally, there was a festive competition announced on the forums. The winners (B Football B & Khaled57) were announced on January 8th, 2009, and they both won 1 month free membership.
Halloween 2009[]
Halloween 2009 brought back the seasonal achievements of Halloween 2008 and added achievements to 16 games:

In addition, two global Halloween achievements were released: FunOrb/Achievement:Hallowe'en Master '08 and FunOrb/Achievement:Hallowe'en Master '09.
There were also a few new Orb Downloads; one of them being a Zombie Dawn avatar showing a zombie partying with a pumpkin in the background.
