This achievement is quite easy if you use the right layout. Buy the 2 and 3x multipliers and bring along a woolly jumper. Ignore ALL iron and silver ore. Kill every myth at all costs unless there is gas or no way to kill it. Grab the equipment from the dead miners and continue on. You shouldn't need to go all the way down to the base. Escape with mining hooks when you get a score of 250,000 points.
